August is Intersectionality Awareness month. The term was coined by Columbia University law professor Kimberlé Crenshaw in 1989 in her paper, "Demarginalizing the Intersection of Race and Sex: A Black Feminist Critique of Antidiscrimination Doctrine, Feminist Theory and Antiracist Politics."
