BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month was formally recognized in 2008 and was originally called Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. It was established to bring awareness to the unique challenges, including cultural and systemic barriers, People of Color face with mental heath. Bebe Moore was an author and journalist who struggled to get support for her daughter's mental illness and became a fierce advocate for BIPOC communities. Below are resources for learning more as well as links for accessing mental health for BIPOC communities.
