Transforming White Women's Leadership Workshop

We are excited to share that our next workshop, "Transforming White Women's Leadership: Reflection and Inspiration to Strengthen Racial Justice Practices," facilitated by Ilsa Govan and Tilman Smith and will be held over 2 days on August 13th and 20th at 9-12pm PT/12-3pm ET.
This workshop will support participants to deepen awareness of the combination of institutional power, privilege, and stereotypes white women leaders must navigate and can perpetuate. Using case studies, personas, and real workplace examples, we’ll provide space for interactive small and large group discussion. Participants will leave better able to name and take responsibility for putting racial equity values into our leadership practices, becoming more compassionate anti-racist managers and supervisors.
Participants from last year's workshop shared words like...
"thoughtful and deeply engaging,"
"respectful facilitation,"
"nice structure and guardrails,"
"safe space to talk with thoughtful probing,"
"clear steps forward,"
"productive and helpful"
to describe the training. To learn more about the workshop and to register, visit the link below!
Diversity Calendar for 2025-2026 is Here!

The Diversity Calendar covering August 2025 to July 2026 is finally here! Did you know that our calendar was originally developed years ago for Seattle Public Schools as a resource for administration and staff? Since then, we've continued to release it annually to support all organizations in creating culturally responsive environments where everyone feels valued and respected.
The calendar is in print-quality PDF format for you to download and print. We've made some additions and updates based on what we've learned as well as your feedback. If you have some for next year's edition, please feel free to share it with us!
July is Disability Pride and BIPOC Mental Health Month

July is Disability Pride and BIPOC Mental Health Month!
Disability Pride Month coincides with the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) signed into law on July 26, 1990. Disability Pride month includes people with physical, cognitive and intellectual, nonvisible, psychiatric and sensory disabilities. Read our post about Disability Pride Month on our blog from last year.
BIPOC Mental Health Month was established in 2008 to recognize the unique challenges, including cultural and systemic barriers, POC face with mental health. Visit our blog from last year to read articles and for links to BIPOC Mental Health providers, which include the following and more!
If you're interested in reading a memoir about BIPOC mental health, Judy, our Project Manager, recommends What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo, which follows her journey of healing from generational trauma. She also did an episode for the NPR Invisibilia podcast called "Therapy Ghostbusters" about generational trauma in the Cambodian community and how Westernized therapy practices failed and how they finally found help.
